MEET THE

Founders

jez and shaked edit.png

The RBSDMA was founded in 2010 by Shaked Sebag and Jezliah Villarreal.  With a deep desire to connect to the women and girls of the community, they established a professional studio where students could develop their talents and use dance and music as an expression of their inner selves.  A place where performing arts is the vehicle of connection to our Creator, to those around us, and to our purpose in this world.

Shaked Sebag

Born in Israel and raised in Arizona, Shaked has been dancing since she was 3 years old and has never stopped.  After becoming baalat teshuva while studying at the University of Arizona and completing her BFA in Arts Education, she made aliyah with her husband and family and soon after opened the RBSDMA in Ramat Bet Shemesh together with Jezliah Villarreal in 2010.   She is so honored to serve the community in such a special way and finds great purpose in providing a place for girls and women to grow artistically, emotionally, and spiritually.  In addition to running the academy and it's classes and curriculum, she has performed to international audiences, produced high caliber concerts for women and girls, choreographed for some of the biggest names in the Jewish music industry, directed and was featured in top music videos permeating the Jewish music scene, and still of course LOVES teaching and spending time in the studio with students of all ages.  Running the academy together with Jezliah for its first 8 years was a tremendous honor and Shaked is so thankful to have such a brilliant and inspiring friend to have started out the journey with.  While directing the academy solo over the past 4 years, Shaked is thankful to continue to work closely with Jezliah on various projects and is looking forward to new projects together on the horizon.

Continuing to spread the love of dance and music and inspiring girls and women through the arts is her joy, and Shaked prays that she will continue to do so for years to come.
